Introduction
UPCYCO is a design studio that concerns social and environmental justice. We utilize design as a tool of activism to intervene into problems like material waste, pollution, and the dwindling local manufacturing sector.
Centered around the curation of material flow, UPCYCO designs lifestyle products with waste materials from manufacturing processes and company operations. With our experties on material and craft, we re-invent new fabrication methods and aesthetics from such materials.
By reusing, sharing, repairing, refurbishing, remanufacturing and recycling, our aims is to create a closed-loop system, minimising the use of resource inputs and the creation of waste, pollution and carbon emissions.
UPCYCO is currently listed on the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Business Centre Directory.

The environmental and social implications of leather/textile production and disposal, make it of high relevance to integrate the targets of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals into different industry, to make it fully sustainable and positive for people and the ecosystem.
The aim of the commitment, is to integrate the UN SDGs in this industry, to tackle the environmental and social issues related to fashion production and consumption:
